We are a family-owned supply company focused on providing quality supplies for traditional hand craft.
We love all sorts of hand craft and are dedicated to offering only the best materials that we use in our own creations!
Sandia, the Spanish word for watermelon, is also the name of a mountain range just east of the city of Albuquerque, New Mexico, so named for their gorgeous pink glow at sunset.
Our family, and our crafting journey, began long ago at the base of the Sandia Mountains. Even though our family is now spread across the US, we still share our love for creating and nostalgia for the culture in which we grew up. You'll find some special New Mexico offerings around the site celebrating our roots.
Amanda is our manager and resident artist. She loves to learn new techniques and to explore new materials. In her own artwork, she is drawn to natural materials such as gourds, wood, stone, or fiber. She has been teaching in a variety of media and selling her own creations for nearly twenty years.
Jamie, our resident tech master, has been fascinated with fiber arts since elementary school. Knitting, crocheting, tatting, lace making, felting, quilting...she loves it all! She loves exploring the intersection of art and technology.
Susan, our inventory and shipping manager, comes from a long line of quilters, teddy bear makers, and other fiber artists. She has fostered the love of creation in her children from an early age, and used her talents to make clothing and quilts for her family. Now that she is retiring from nursing, she is looking forward to having time to invest in her own projects and learn new skills.
